Ubuntu Software Store is temporarily located under System, with a plan to replace Add\Remove in the Beta release (screen-shots below).

Another change in Karmic Alpha 6 is that the boot splash screen (Usplash) has been removed for improving the startup time. Ubuntu will now have an X-based splash screen (Xsplash - you can install it in Alpha 6 by using the following command:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-xsplash-artwork && sudo apt-get install xsplash
). Here is a video with the new Xsplash:

Also, the Indicator Applet can now open the Empathy Instant Messenger and/or the Evolution Mail client:

This week, the User Interface Freeze for Ubuntu Karmic Koala took place meaning no major changes will be made from the appearance point of view.

Download Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha 6:

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Ubuntu Desktop, Server, and Netbook Remix)

http://uec-images.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Ubuntu Server for UEC and EC2)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Ubuntu Desktop for ARM)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Kubuntu Desktop and Netbook)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Xubuntu)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (UbuntuStudio)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/mythbuntu/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Mythbuntu)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/edubuntu/releases/karmic/alpha-6/ (Edubuntu)

Features Smile & Face Detection In Digital Camera

It's not a new thing about the facility Smile Detection and Face Detection in a digital camera. Computer word originally used to describe the work people do arithmetic calculations, with or without tools, but the meaning of this word and then transferred to the machine itself. Their origins, processing information almost exclusively related to arithmetical problems, but modern computers are used for many tasks unrelated to mathematics.

In such a definition is a tool like a slide rule, mechanical calculator types ranging from abacus, and so on, until all contemporary electronic computers. Better terms suitable for a broad sense such as "computer" is "that process information" or "information-processing system."

Computer

Nevertheless, the above definition includes many special tools that can only take one or several functions. When considering modern computers, the nature of their most important tool to distinguish them from the earlier count is that, with the right programming, any computer can emulate any nature (although perhaps limited by storage capacity and different speeds), and, indeed believed that the machine can now mimic computing tools that we will create in the future (though undoubtedly more slowly). In a sense, these limits are a useful test because the computer recognized the "general purpose" of the special purpose equipment early. The definition of "public purpose" can be formulated into a condition that a machine should be able to emulate a universal Turing machine. Machines that have this definition is known as a Turing-complete, and that they first appeared in 1940 in the middle of development throughout the world. See the article on the history of computing for more details of this period.

Embedded Computers

At approximately the last 20 years, many household appliances, particularly including a panel of video games but also includes a cell phone, video cassette recorders, PDAs and many in the household, industrial, automotive, and other electronic equipment, all of which contain electronic circuits such as computer eligible Turing-complete the above (with a note that the programs of these devices are often made directly in the ROM chip which would need to be changed to change the engine program). Other special purpose computer is generally known as a "microcontroller" or "Embedded computer" (embedded computer). Therefore, many of which restrict the definition to computer main purpose tool that is processing information, rather than becoming part of larger systems such as telephone, microwave oven, or a plane, and can be modified for various purposes by users with no physical modifications. The main frame computer, minikomputer, and personal computers (PCs) are the main types of computers that have this definition.

Personal Computers

Finally, many people are not familiar with other forms of computer use this term to refer exclusively to the personal computer (PC).

How Computers Work

As the technology used in digital computers has changed dramatically since the first computer in the 1940s (see History of the hardware count for more detail), most computers still use the von Neumann architecture, which was proposed in the early 1940s by John von Neumann .

Von Neumann architecture describes a computer with four main sections: Arithmetic and Logical Unit (ALU), control unit, memory, and input devices and the results (collectively called I / O). This section is connected by a wire file, "bus"

Memory
RAM memory modules

In this system, the memory bytes are numbered sequence (such as "cell" or "pigeon holes"), each containing a small piece of information. This information may be a command to tell the computer what to do. Tues may contain computer data needed to perform a command. Each slot may contain one, and what is now the data may then be ordered.

A memory storing various forms of information as binary numbers. The information will not be resolved binary form (encoded) with a number of instructions to turn it into a sequence of numbers or figures. For example: The letter F is stored as a decimal number 70 (or binary digits) using one method of solving. More complex instructions can be used to store images, sound, video, and various kinds of information. The information can be stored in a sell is called a byte.

In general, the memory can be rewritten over a million times - the memory can be thought of as a blackboard and chalk that can be written and erased again, rather than a legal pad with a pen that can not be deleted.

The size of each cell, and cell numbers, a great change from computer to computer, and technology in the manufacture of memory has changed greatly - from Electromechanical relays, to a tube filled with mercury (and later spring) in which the acoustic pulse is formed, until the permanent magnet matrix, to each transistor, the integrated circuits with millions of transistors on a single silicon chip.

Programs
Computer program is a big list of commands to be done by a computer, perhaps with the data in the table. Many computer programs contain millions of orders, and many of the commands was done repeatedly. A [[Personal computer [PC]] Modern general (in 2003) can do about 2-3 billion in the second command. Computers do not get their extraordinary abilities through the ability to perform complex commands. However, they do millions of simple commands arranged by smart people, "programmers." "Programmer develops Both sets of commands to perform common tasks (for example, draw a dot on the screen) and then make the command sets that are available to other programmers." Nowadays, most computers seem to do several programs at once. This is usually referred to as multitasking. In fact, the CPU perform the command from one program, then after a while, the CPU switch to the second program and do some orders. Small interval is often referred to as a slice of time (time-slice). This raises the illusion that multiple programs simultaneously performed by giving the CPU time in the program. This is similar to how the film is just a quick series of still frame. The operating system is a program that is usually distributed over this time

How to Use Twitter Effectively : A Guide for Beginners and Businesses

Internet marketing is no longer a huge mystery to most businesses. Almost everyone has an informational webpage at the very least. Unfortunately, throwing up a one-page site isn't enough anymore. Potential customers are looking for more of a personal connection. Social media is what makes that possible. Here are a few tips to get started on one of the most simple tools.

If you haven't already set up a Twitter account, don't just yet. That will be step 2. First you need to have a plan of action. Twitter is like an instant messenger. It allows you to send short blurbs about yourself, your business or anything else you might like to share. People choose to follow you based on their preexisting relationship with you or the relevance of your tweets to their interests. As with any marketing tool, you need to have a clear idea of what type of message you want to communicate and whom your target audience will be. Are you tweeting to keep in touch with family and friends, to announce new specials or to provide links to resources your network can use? Your purpose may even be a combination of several of these.

Once you have determined the purpose behind your message, now it is time to open a Twitter account. Setup is a relatively simple process which takes less than 5 minutes. The most important choices you will make are your username and profile picture. Your username should easily identify you. It can be your name or something that represents your brand. Your username will act both as your login and it will become a permanent fixture as your unique Twitter url. Your profile picture should be of your logo or a closeup picture of you. This will appear next to every post you make. Keep your purpose in mind when choosing both of these important elements.

Search for people to follow. Like interests, profession and geographic location are all great ways to link to current and potential clients, professionals you may wish to network with and leading industry experts. Follow all those who seem to be of interest. Usually, when you follow someone, they return the favor by following you too. This is how you build your network. Make sure you also use Twitter's tool that allows you to import your contacts from your webmail accounts such as Yahoo or Gmail. Add the Twitter application to your Facebook account and use Twitter's gadget maker to add your updates to your website, blog, MySpace or other HTML-enabled profile.

Start posting updates to your status. Twitter asks the simple question "what are you doing?" How you answer this question is important to the success of your Twitter campaigning. Every status message should be in line with your identified purpose. Post 1 to 5 times each day to provide your customers, clients, family and friends with up-to-date information about you or your business happenings. Twitter is great for quick shout-outs when you are on vacation, special announcements of new products or sales and to provide links to great information you have uncovered and want to share. The more valuable tweets you put out, the more valuable your Twittering will be perceived by the Twitterverse.

Actively engage other Twitterers. You aren't following these people for no reason. Respond to the tweets of those you are following. Ask and answer questions, provide helpful tips and congratulate their successes. Quick responses that may be pertinent to your purpose can be responded in the standard @username format. However, use this structure sparingly. Longer conversations or those that have little to do with your purpose should be carried on using the Direct Messages tool.

Giveaway a free gift to all those who follow you. This is a great marketing approach that I got from another Twitterer. Every time someone new follows you, an email will generate notifying you. I message each person with a quick personal note and a link to a free downloadable .pdf file on my website. It adds a personal touch and kicks off the start of a great relationship.

Utilize Twitter application tools. There are many tools available on the web that can make using your new Twitter account even easier. Some of these tools can search through your followers' updates by topic and sort them for you, autorespond to new followers and post your updates on a predetermined schedule. Check out the many Twitter tools such as Twhirl and Tweetscan by doing a simple search of "Twitter tools".
